| | | | | 💡 Community Share | How Dan Used GPT-4 to Empower His Toddler | Dan, a Futurepedia member, built a basic web app to help his toddler, and asked us to share his creation in hopes that it could help or inspire other parents who are pressed for time (or energy). | | AI has unlocked everyday people to solve everyday problems at light speed — with a fraction of the investment or initiative previously required. | The Story | Creating a routine for Dan's rebellious toddler who doesn't go to daycare can be challenging. | One night, Dan built the single page app, Toddler Daily activities!, to empower his son to select his own activities and create his own routine. | The Process | Step 1: Dan entered his prompt into GPT, asking it to create clickable cards for each activity — with optional start, pause, and end timer functions — that activate a sound when clicked. To make it really clean, he instructed GPT to use Bootstrap for the CSS. | Step 2: He then pasted the HTML into the free desktop app, Sublime Text. It's helpful to save an HTML file on your desktop. When you open it, a local browser tab will show you what it looks like and you can make small tweaks. | Step 3: Once happy with the preview, he created a free Github Pages account and uploaded his HTML file. | Step 4: Using ZEDGE, a free ringtone site, he found an audio file for the chime when an activity is selected. | Step 5: He then uploaded the file to Github, adding the audio into the jQuery (GPT-4 told him how, of course!). | Step 6: Using freeflo, he found the style prompt structure for a good flat UI illustration, which he then took over to Midjourney to create the imagery for each activity card in a similar style. | The Results | Dan said, "It's been about a month and my son still looks forward to selecting his routine.
