OpenAI - Huge Sora Video AI Leak! - (Issue #36)

Plus: OpenAI aims its crosshairs at Google Chrome

Welcome back, Indexers!

It's been a couple of weeks since the last email went out as i've been busy re-designing The Prompt Index. I used Claude 3.5 to completely overhaul and re-code all 30 pages of the website and I also updated our free chrome extension, (all whilst still being a non-coder and whilst being able to keep the design on-point). I'll go into detail on how I achieved this in a record speed later on. (I also started up another little mini project with regards to SEO which i've been discussing in our telegram channel).

Breaking News: On the 26th November, OpenAI's text to video model (Sora) had it's API access leaked. We will cover everything you need to know.

In other news, OpenAI have updated their 4o model, improving its creative writing output (but all is not as it seems, more on this later). Anthropic introduce MCP, a framework that allows Claude to use servers, OpenAI gears up to take on Google Chrome and Amazon solidify their support for Anthropic with another huge investment.

That's a lot so let's dive in...

Prompt

Really fun prompt by ChainBrainAI. All you have to do is copy and paste the prompt (link to the prompt below). It will then ask you which person you wish to speak to (Trump is a fun one) but it could be anyone living or dead, maybe ask Winston Churchill his thoughts after winning the war. Works well with ChatGPT and Grok (X) but will not work with Claude.

Check the prompt out here.

Do you have you got an awesome prompt you want to share? Login to The Prompt Index and click "Submit" and share it with the community. Don't forget! You can also save prompts and access your saved list from anywhere using our Chrome extension, get it here.

Thanks to @azed_ai (X, 2024) for this lovely prompt template:

Abstract Smoke

An abstract smoke ripple depiction of [subject], rendered with wispy strokes and fluid forms. Use soft [color 1] and [color 2] tones to create a harmonious interplay between fluidity and [emotion/concept] on a [background description]

Unrelated Bonus tip: Try adding IMG_1018.CR2 to a prompt using FLUX, for example "image of a person IMG_1018.CR2". You'll get some super realistic results.

The Prompt Index Refresh

I first made The Prompt Index as a none coder around 2+ years ago, painstakingly using chatGPT 3.5 it took me 6 months working 3 hours a night. It was well overdue a complete design overhaul. I mean whilst it was damn impressive to build it purely with AI over 2 years ago, it did look like a 10 year old made it.
I used Claude 3.5 and did a refresh with some structural changes in less then 6 hours (I still can't code).
I approached this by first thrashing out just the index page, in a normal conversation, once we had got a re-design i liked, I asked it to create a base .css (style sheet) file which would hold the core stylings that I would be using for the rest of the site. I also asked it to write up some design notes so that it could be used in a brand new conversation without any prior context and it would be able to carry on as we left off.

I then created a project on Claude which is much like a customGPT. With projects you can upload text to essentially train or give it knowledge it hasn't been trained on (such as my website). I added the brand new homepage html file and css (style sheet), along with the developer notes and base styles.

I then started a new conversation (within the project) and asked it to take a look at my new homepage and then passed it the signup page html and css.

It quickly matched this up after a few iterations and again i then further strengthened its knowledge by adding the signup html and css to the projects knowledge file. I went through every single page, each time adding it to the knowledge file once I was happy with it. By the end it was so alligned with my new styled website it was "one-shotting" the responses and absolutely nailing it.

If you haven't checked out the refresh yet, please do, you can see it here.

I got carried away and ended up passing it my old chome extension and it overhauled that in one go as well, which you can download here.

The main technique here was the use of Claude's project feature and slowly increasing it's own knowledge after successfully designing my websites pages 1 by 1.

Claude 3.5 Sonnet is still my number 1 go to when it comes to coding. Yes there maybe other models that are better at creative writing or even reasoning, but I would struggle to accept if another was better at coding!

I also mentioned I started a new SEO based project, keeping this really short, after some research and some back and forth conversations with Claude, I found that between 100,000 and 1,000,000 search "Percentage Calculator" every month. The number 1 link is a very simple one page website with hardly any SEO. It just has good back-linking.

So i had a another little chat with Claude, I bought www.percentagescalculator.co.uk domain and Claude produced the code for the website within minutes (literally 10 minutes), I then searched the number 1 ranking websites URL in google in between quotation marks to find where it is appearing on other sites and I started scraping the email addresses for the site owners everywhere it was appearing and getting chatGPT to write persuasive emails, letting them know the benefits of my percentage calculator. I also found forums where people were discussing it so also let them know about the tool. Wherever their link is, my link is.

Claude helped me create a chrome extension calculator which will give me a high value google domain backlink for $5 (cost for registering as a developer), which they don't have. My idea? If i can even take 10% of that search volume, that's a hell of a lot of traffic.

Total cost so far: $10 (Domain registration and chrome webstore registration)

Please do check out the website, bookmark it if you think it will be useful and download and review the chrome extension and if you have a website and would like to contribute, please add www.percentagescalculator.co.uk to your website to help with backlinking and help me prove that back-linking is 90% of SEO.

Openai model updates

Recent Independent Evaluation Reveals Shifts in GPT-4o's Performance Profile

A comprehensive study conducted by Artificial Analysis has uncovered significant changes in OpenAI's latest GPT-4 model release from November 2024, compared to its August 2024 predecessor. The findings suggest an unexpected tradeoff between speed and capability in the newer version.

Key Performance Metrics:

The November 2024 release demonstrated notably lower performance across several critical benchmarks:

The Artificial Analysis Quality Index dropped from 77 to 71, now matching the GPT-4o mini's performance level

GPQA Diamond scores decreased from 51% to 39%

MATH benchmark results declined from 78% to 69%

However, the evaluation revealed a dramatic improvement in processing speed, with output generation more than doubling from approximately 80 to 180 tokens per second. While faster processing speeds typically accompany new model launches due to enhanced infrastructure provisioning, the magnitude of this speed increase—coupled with the performance decreases—suggests a potentially significant architectural change.

Technical Implications:

The data strongly indicates that OpenAI may have deployed a more compact model architecture in the November 2024 release. While this could explain the enhanced speed, it may also account for the observed decreases in performance metrics. Despite these changes, OpenAI has maintained its original pricing structure.

Recommendations:

For developers and organisations currently utilising the August version, careful evaluation is recommended before transitioning to the November release. The performance trade-offs should be carefully weighed against potential speed benefits for specific use cases.

Claude MCP Framework

Anthropic has released MCP (Model Context Protocol), a framework that extends Claude's capabilities by allowing it to interact with various server-side services. This effectively transforms the Claude app into a more versatile API platform.

The framework includes several key integrations:

Core Infrastructure:

- FileSystem access with security controls

- Web browsing capabilities via Brave Search

- Memory system using knowledge graphs for persistent storage

External Service Integration:

- GitHub repository management

- Google Drive file operations

- PostgreSQL database access (read-only)

- Slack workspace interaction

Developer Tools:

- Puppeteer for browser automation

- Web content fetching optimized for LLM processing

- Google Maps integration for location services

A notable feature is the ability to combine these services - for example, Claude can perform web research and then use that information to generate and save local files, all within a single interaction.

There are some good videos where you can see this in action as it's sometimes easier to understand once you see it. Check them out here

Huge OpenAI Sora Leak - OpenAI's highly anticipated video generation model, Sora, was leaked by a group of artists who were part of the early access program. The leak happened November 26th when the unknown group published a project on Hugging Face essentially allowing unfiltered access to Sora AI's API.

OpenAI had this shut down within 3 hour but not before general users had the opportunity to generate whatever they wanted. I shared 4 of the videos in the telegram channel but you can see more here.

The artists claimed they did this in protest of what they called "art washing". They also expressed concerns about unpaid labour from artitsts, limited public sharing of Sora generated videos and the strict approval process to get a video shared publicly.

From the videos i've seen, they don't look much more advanced than Kling or other opensource models we've seen recently...

OpenAI to take on Chrome - OpenAI is reportedly developing a web browser to challenge Google Chrome's market dominance. This move reflects OpenAI's ambition to expand beyond AI development and disrupt established industries. Read the article here.
